Suzuki Forms Plan for Increase Production in Indonesia

Drivers in the greater Clarksville area and beyond might love the new Suzuki lineup that we carry here at Mathews Suzuki, but don't let that fool you into thinking that the U.S. is the only region that the automaker focuses on. Rather, Suzuki has its eyes set on markets around the globe, and they're planning to invest more in them each day. For instance, did you know that Suzuki is planning a rather large production surge in Indonesia?

Last summer, Suzuki began constructing a new plant that would allow the company to produce nearly 100,000 engines per year. Of course, knowing that this figure might not be enough, the company is planning to infuse the new building with the equipment needed to increase its limit to 150,000 per year if necessary.

Right now, the current Suzuki parts plant produces the necessary components for roughly 80,000 vehicles a year, so the addition of this new factory would more than double their production efforts. "Suzuki Motor Corp plans to invest nearly $800 million to expand its automobile-production facilities in Indonesia over the next two years," explains Soebronto Laras, the president of Jakarta-based PT Suzuki Indomobil Moto.1

If you ask us, and investment like that is sure to lead to growth for the Japanese automaker on a global level, which, of course, means new and updated models here at 185 Highway 76 Clarksville, TN 37043 for us to feast our eyes on.
